Sketching in the Landscape

A great idea has to start from somewhere, and in recent years my sketchbooks have become my playground. They are where I test out compositions, play with colour and sketch on the go. Sketchbooks allow me to capture those fleeting moments in real-time, in a variety of mediums.

Then, I can take those sketchbooks back to the studio, curate my favourite snapshots and transform them into the next collection of landscape paintings.
