Beautiful Landscape Paintings Inspired by a love for nature
I paint bold and intimate landscapes that remind us of where we've been and the beauty we find along the way.
Inspired by the natural world and with a passion for wandering through woodlands, getting lost in gardens and mountains. I paint with acrylics, mixed media and paper collage, creating soft layers and intriguing textures.
The landscapes I paint are inspired by beautiful places I love, as far apart as England, Wales, Malta and Patagonia. But I don’t simply paint the place, they become unique stories of their own.
My hope is that these little windows into nature bring you the same feelings I find outdoors: calm, presence, and that soft untangling of the day.
From woodland paintings to collage landscapes, my paintings depict the beautiful of hidden places and the memories these landscapes hold, and the uniqueness of our own journeys through these spaces.
Inspired by things that grow
Born in England and living on the island of Malta, I seek out nature and beautiful, magical places as often as I can, always with a sketchbook in my bag and a list of scenic spots to cross off my list.
I am drawn to misty lakes, bursting riverbanks, woodlands and gardens. I grew up feeding the ducks by the local river, wandering through valleys and seeking out nature wherever I could, even when it seemed impossible.
Now, I paint the landscapes with a new-found respect and appreciation for where I come from. Many of these artworks are painted in acrylics outdoors, on location or en plein air. My collection Highlands & Heather was painted almost entirely on location in the beautiful Scotland landscape and Edinburgh.
More recently I've been inspired to use collage in my work, and explore more imagined landscapes and abstract forms.
